Sómas

Barbara Quinn Registered Osteopath
Osteopathy

Treatment is gentle and non-invasive and for all the family, from your newborns to great grandparents. Sómas is a practice which uses the cranial approach. This is a refined and subtle method of working within the osteopathic spectrum of treatment. It takes many years of further training to develop these skills to a level which is clinically effective. A huge variety of problems are amenable to treatment – it is not just for sore heads or colicky babies. (please see FAQs)

One of osteopathy's main principles is that the body is capable of healing itself under the right conditions. We all have, within us, a blueprint for health which the body naturally strives towards. Sometimes it needs a little help to get out of a stuck place. Osteopaths help or facilitate this process.

Cranial techniques utilise rhythmic motions deep within the body's structure which most people are not even aware of.

The osteopath can track and support these motions to help the self healing mechanism in its work.
